The Community Leadership Team is comprised of a compassionate and dedicated staff who run the day-to-day operations of Asbury Solomons.

Brad Andrus

Executive Director

"I have been so fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve older individuals in continuing care retirement communities over the last 17 years. The knowledge and life experiences of the residents that I have formed relationships with over that time is truly remarkable. A rapidly growing older adult demographic will require Aging Services to take a more innovative strategic approach to service with a continued focus on public policy, community management as well as gaining a further understanding of the aging process. Working in this profession provides me with great fulfillment, and I look forward to being a part of it many years to come."

Todd Miller-Jones

Nursing Home Administrator

"That there are exemplary communities like Asbury Solomons, truly dedicated to the enrichment and care for the lives of seniors, presents an incredible opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and forward thinking team.  I am both thankful and proud to work with a team that prides themselves on a holistic approach to resident care, meeting the needs of each resident’s emotional, physical, spiritual, and recreational needs.  Further I have found it is the constant evaluation of services by all our associates to insure that the finest care is delivered, that transcends this work towards self-actualization for all."

John Pohlen

Director of Human Resources

“I am blessed to be a part of a team that works hard to enrich the lives of the residents through meaningful, person-centered interactions.  I have the joy of working in the department that supports and serves those who serve Asbury Solomons' residents.  Our associates are a part of a diverse and talented workforce that is the catalyst to our commitment of improving the quality of life for the residents.  I am proud to be a part of such a multifaceted and strategic approach to an engaged and inclusive culture.“

Debbie Jones

Director of Sales & Marketing

"The greatest pleasure of my position is helping people transition into their new life at Asbury Solomons. This is truly a special place where leadership, associates and residents work and enjoy life together as one big family."

Dennis Poremski

Director of Wellness

"I am so fortunate to serve the residents of Asbury Solomons.  I have the opportunity every day to make a difference in the lives of those I serve.  The amazing part is that I also personally gain so much from my service at the same time.  This is indeed rare.  I really look forward to coming to "work" every day.

"Wellness" is my job, but this concept is one that truly part of who I am and what I do.  I get to know people for who they are, for where they've been and for what they are looking forward to doing and being in the future.  It is a privilege to be a part of the lives of some of the most amazing people I will ever know.  That I have found my life's work is completely satisfying."

Reverend Charles Harrell

Director of Pastoral Care

"Pastoral ministry is about being present in the lives of people in times of joy and exaltation, pain and loss, and the routine of the everyday.  It is representing the presence of the God who is always with us, never forsakes us, and calls us to live each day to our best and highest.  This office is a great privilege, and I am delighted to be part of this great community, a terrific team of associates, and most of all the lives of these precious people.

Everyone is a spiritual being.  We may, and do, express it differently:  in our personalities, in our work or craft, through how we care for people, in the worship of the living God.  One does not have to be “religious” to be deeply spiritual, for it is much richer than that: it is to be in touch with the transcendent Life which pervades all our lives.  To share part of life’s journey and be in ministry with our residents, whether they hold faith tightly, profess none at all, or express their spirituality in distinctive or unusual ways – that is my challenge and joy, to which I am called once more with each new day."

George Beyer

Director of Facilities

"I take great pride in the role our team plays in maintaining the beauty and security of this campus for the residents who have chosen Asbury Solomons for their retirement. The daily interactions we have with the people we serve inspire us to do our very best."

Mark Ruiz

Director of Environmental and Laundry Services

“I feel it is my distinct privilege to work each day in a place with people that naturally inspire myself and the members of the department to provide the very best service and beyond to the residents.”

Linda Wooge

Director of Asbury Home Services

"Working at Asbury Solomons for 11 years now has become more than just a job to me. Coming to work is more like coming to be with your second family. Friendships that will last forever in our hearts are made not only with other associates but also with the residents. It amazes me how everyone comes together for one another without a second thought. What more could you want from a place you call a job?"

Vicky Balderson, RN

Delegating Nurse Manager, Assisted Living

"It is an honor and privilege to serve as the leader for the Assisted Living Residents and Associates. Every day I look forward to each new experience and am thankful to the Residents for allowing myself and my team to be part of their lives. Our team of experienced health care professionals is committed to creating and maintaining an environment in which each Resident thrives and is proud to call home."

Sharon Madden

Executive Assistant

"As the Executive Assistant, I am privileged to serve not only the Asbury Solomons Island residents and their families, but our amazing associates as well. I am so honored not only to be allowed, but to be welcomed into many facets of their lives. I am in constant awe of the amazing things that the residents and staff have accomplished. I feel truly blessed to come to work each day in a place that is as beautiful at its core, as it is a location."
